Philip Wilby is the current Musical Director at St Mary's following the retirement of Ray Hillman in January 2010.
His main musical interests lie within the sphere of Composition, and until his retirement he served as Professor of Composition at Leeds University for more than thirty years.
His wife Wendy is Canon Precentor at Bristol Cathedral, and they have two daughters, who are also professional musicians.
In addition to his interest in Church Music, he is proud to have served as Musical Associate at the famous Black Dyke Brass Band for sixteen
