Mark Evans, Assistant Priest
Mark Evans is an assistant priest in the parish. He has worked in education for over thirty years, first as a teacher of English and Drama and then as a Deputy head in a comprehensive school just outside Bristol.
He then worked as Director of Education for Bath and Wells Diocese for six years before taking up a role with the Department for Children Schools and Families in London, working on Academies.

He now works full time for a national education consultancy.
He was ordained priest in 2005 and served his curacy at Winterbourne Down. He is committed to working with all styles of worship and witness and sees the spiritual as a key element of all life. As well as working as a priest in Thornbury, he also serves across four parishes: Rockhampton, Falfield, Tytherington and Cromhall.
He is the Chair of Gloucester Diocese’s Board of Education.
He is married to Cressida and has two children, both grown up.
