Tom is married to Ann and they have two married children, Tracy and Sam and four grandchildren. Tom graduated from the University of Southampton with a degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics and worked for 30 years as an Aerospace Engineer before taking early retirement and setting up an Engineering and Management Consultancy. His hobbies include travel, walking with the U3A, model railways and American Square Dancing.
Although active as a lay person and Churchwarden in two dioceses over many years, Tom had, like Jonah, ignored a nagging call to ordained ministry until he ran out of excuses. He studied Christian Ministry and Mission on the West of England Ministerial Training Course and was ordained at Gloucester Cathedral, deacon on 1st July 2012 and priest on 29th June 2013. He was licensed as an Associate Priest in the benefice on 31st May 2015
Tom is delighted to serve in this benefice where he has lived since 1990. He looks forward to continuing to follow Christ in this place and serving the people who live in Thornbury and Oldbury, to the Glory of God, by God’s grace and through the strength of the Holy Spirit.
