Sheila Fisher -
I’ve been married to Roger since 1976 and we have 3 daughters, Helen, Chrissie and Jo.
I was brought up in North London, loved to dance as a child (and still love music and dance), and trained first as a ballet teacher, then later as a physiotherapist at The London Hospital in Whitechapel, before moving to Gloucestershire, where I worked at both Gloucester and Standish Hospitals.
After having the children, I helped in our building business with the wages and accounts, while also doing some voluntary work for Social Services, and advocacy work in Stroud.
I was churchwarden at St. George’s, Cam for several years prior to ordination training, and then worked as Associate Priest at Cam and Stinchcombe until we moved to Rockhampton in July 2011.
I retired as Associate Priest in the Thornbury benefice in July 2015, but continue to worship here and help out when I can.
I enjoy being with my grandchildren and family, Pilates, going to the gym, singing with Thornbury Choral Society, and exploring new places with Roger. We also have a large garden at home which keeps us busy!
