OCTAVES children’s choir was formed by Kate three years ago following a promise to a friend that she would start a children’s choir when she retired.
There were 8 boys and girls initially, but now there are 20. There is plenty of room for more!
The choir is not attached to any school or church and is open to any primary school child in and around Thornbury. They rehearse at 6.30 at St Mary’s Church on Friday evenings.
OCTAVES stands for Our Children in ThornburyAre Very Enthusiastic Singers.
OCTAVES have sung at Thornbury Carnival, Christingle services, a garden party and a Songs of Praise with Thornbury Band. They have also featured in concerts by Thornbury Choral Society and The Flowers Brass Band.
Kate would like to hear from you if you know a boy or girl who would like to become an OCTAVE or if you would like them to sing at an event.
